Youth leaders retreat, X'mas youth event and Youth camp

What seems to be the most celebrated holiday in the world is also the most busy time of the year for me...And worse of all...movies like Golden Compass which is completely anti-Christ is not helping either...therefore please do not watch the movie and support the writer who wants to "destroy God in hearts of children". Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ 2007 years ago and that's that...

It's about the birth of the Saviour who eventually took away our sins by dying on the cross...It's not about gifts, its definitely not abt santa or reindeer or watsoever...itz abt God fulfilling His promise about sending the Messiah (Jesus Christ) to save us from the penalty of sins, which is death...He took upon himself...Therefore, Christmas is about God's love for us...always remember that..

Now back to the youth leaders retreat...I thank God for the few that has stepped up to the plate and willing to serve as youth leaders in 2008 for the youth ministry...God really blessed a vast array of talents which I pray would strengthen our youth and help us grow..Of coz by God's grace...We are now all currently trying to rush and settle our x'mas event on the 22th of Dec at 2.30pm and itz called Christ-mas be here! Please come...you are duly welcomed

If i dun reply emails or SMSs..that's becoz I'm really busy wiv my youth camp and youth x'mas event...

Bible Trail 2007 at St Andrew's Cathedral

The past 2 days have been great as I have been learning God's Word non-stop..Isn't that great? Isn't that what everyone shld be dreaming of doin? It has been really fun-filled and packed wiv activities which just shows how beautiful and great is our God..He speaks to us in many ways..all we need to do is read the Bible and pray..isn't dat wonderful?

I really wana thank Jesus for dying on the cross and giving us the opportunity to live and not have to die for our sins..as the penalty of sins is actually death...but God showed us love and gave us the promise of salvation..who can ask for more?

Therefore, give ur life to Jesus today..and you will see the biggest thing happening to u ever..

Enjoying life with a walk with God

Life has really been great...serving God and without a care in the world...

Ahaha as many of you all know..I have been selling and trading duelmasters cards and earning about $100 a week...LOL..but now..I'm praying to God for help to gather a few youths to come up with a game with similar concept but using the Bible as the basis.

It will be a christian card game which could be distributed to churches and oso used as an evangelism tool..

Just suddenly felt like that...

Just another week...but the not so familiar feeling has come back..longing to love someone but unable to...wanting to shower her with love...but circumstances just don't allow so...this goes out to those that understand this feeling:

Hurt is when love is undelivered,

Happiness even when a little smile is reciprocated.

Pain is the feeling when you drag yourself away,

Joy fills your heart when she/he says "Okay"

Sadness overcomes because you feel inadequate,

Love does ironic things people.

Sudden rush of feelings...

Listened to one of my fav chinese songs...Ni Na Me Ai Ta by Li Sheng Jie...
The songs kinda reflects wat i feel now...not being able to say ur feelings...fearing the outcome...juz letting her go...haiz...if only feelings could be so much simpler...but thank God i can handle my feelings much better and have not done any stupid thing to scare the gal i guess...lol...

Got encouragement from the dinner with Don, Ivan, Stanford and Mavis

Lol...after youth..we went to long john silvers(yes i noe..again..but really dunno where to eat liao)..den we talked alot abt the future of the youth ministry..the discussion was really encouraging...

Things we hope to achieve in the near future:

A new name, Closer friendships and relationships between youth, A family-like atmosphere, A befriender saturday, more activites and stronger bible study, new leaders, sports training, publicity thru announcements, our very own website and the notice board, A youth t-shirt, guest cards...so on and so forth...

We leave it to God and really hope all u youths lend a helping and build the strong foundation where we rise to greater heights with our youth ministry...

Camp Christine - Read on b4 you make ur opinion

I hear from people complaining..i read it in blogs..eh come on..i really doubt anybody could have done a better job...

If you do not know what I'm talking abt, I'm talking abt the youth's camp will be at camp christine..

Trust me..we have looked at MANY different alternatives..because the committee knew you all wanted a change in area...

1) We checked St John Island campsite - Unless you all wanted to sleep tgt (guys and gals all under one bunk) and cook ur own meals everyday, I guess this ain't the one for u.

2) We checked the Sembawang BB/GB campsite. Unless you all wana pay more than $50 for the camp, we would gladly book it for you all.

3) We checked out schools, but the reason was the same, they had their own activities.

4) We even thought of using the church. Unless you want to have 40 guys waiting for only one bathing cubicle, I think its not possible.

Therefore, if anyone has a better alternative, please come and approach me. If not, try not to complain or even rant off about not coming. With that attitude, I rather you not come. You wana know why? Because this camp is not for you youths or BBs. Yes you heard me right. This camp is a glorification of God's grace and love for us. We are using the church's money and we better be good stewards of it. So either come to praise God and show that you love Him, all you can continue complaining about not going or that its camp christine again like a CHILDISH toddler.

I'm super serious about this. The last thing I want for the youths or BBs is to take anything for granted. I believe in unless you something better to contribute, you better as well shut up.

No joke today, I'm just disappointed and I hope many of you can wake up your ideas.

Things are happening so fast!

HAhaha celebrated children's day with the sunday school kids and played games and played dress up with the teachers lol...they were all wrapped up in coloured papers and newspapers...really had alot of fun...

Thinking abt it..I was not serving in any ministry 1 year ago....had this talk with Zhenwei and Serene really made me think..it was just one year ago..so much has changed...I'm serving as the one in charge of the games for the sunday school kids at the last sunday of the month, den i'm starting as a full-time youth worker intern on tuesday and I'm also in charge of the games for the sunday school outing on Nov 10th.

Then, another 2 pple asked me to serve in more ways...One asked me to consider giving children's sermon and another has asked me to be the MC for the church retreat...WOW things has really changed for me..serving and coming to church has so much more meaning now..i guess itz becoz I treasure God's love and relationship alot more than the past...in the past i took it for granted being born into a christian family etc etc...

Joke of the day:

Men are from Mars...Women are just likes MARS (as in the chocolate, sweet and you never get sick of it!!)

Hahahah wanted to put a interesting title I thought of today...

Today I went major hardcore shopping in JB with my buddy Darren from NTU...we shopped from 11am till 1pm..then we watched Knocked Up (real funny and really meaningful)...then we carried on by watching the 3.30pm show Rogue Assassin (real good story line..but not as action packed as the advert suggests..but really good). Then we went to Holiday Inn and shopped even more hahhaa...finally we ate dinner and spent till we had only 8 cents ringgit left...so desperate rite?

Anyway it was a great day shopping and preparing for stuff to wear when I officially start as an intern for the youth worker position as of Oct 1st...can't wait..I'm filled with anticipation...itz gonna be a tough road..but itz gonna be well worth it...

As for all the youth out there, all the best for your exams and may God bless you all with concentration and memory of all that you have learnt. Always remember, God is carrying you all the way...So you are never alone during the examinations..

Yes, It is official..I'm going to be the youth worker for my church!

hahah just say the great news that God has allowed me to choose Him and serve Him in a full-time capacity by being a youth worker in QLC...my training starts on Oct 1st at youth for Christ and I'm totally excited to do so...I prayed and thought about this for a long while after my final exams in NTU...But I'm glad I made this decision I definitely will not regret it...

As for my friends thinking whether I may become a pastor in the future, it is not something impossible....this is because I will be going for the studies next year july..and I think I will get a masters in theology..which in the future will help me in either being a youth pastor or a full-fledged pastor...but that's in a few years time...but still very possible

Today's my niece's bday and I would like to wish her a wonderful bday and that she will find the wonderful friend that God has blessed her with..being able to have fun but be mature about things at the same time....

Did planning with the YF committee from 11.30 till abt 2.30...it was really fruitful and God was definitely working in the meeting....we could really see a movement towards growth and strengthening...The future is bright..all thanks to God and the help of the rest of the guys....
May we continue to grow for God and never let go of the faith that keeps us strong.

Joke of the day:

Who's bday isit today?

Heartwarming moment yet again

Beautiful like the morning sunrise
Wonderful as the first bloom in spring
Sweet like the purest honey
Eyes that sparkle like the stars
A smile that melts my heart
A set of dimples that drives me wild
God's gift in the form of sight

Inspired by the song: Lips of an angel
and by that special someone

The long awaited and inauggural event of the youth FINALLY CAME!!! Itz the amazing race orchard and 36 youths participated...the night started off in QLC with a dinner and an IQ game that I came up with on my bed...11 questions to encourage bonding among the BB and the youth...to my amazement..it really worked quite well hahah..

CE was quite smooth and it could really be seen that everyone was talking...Praise God..My prayers were answered and you could see God working among the youth and BB...

Then came 12.15am..AMAZING RACE officially started lol... Everyone really played their hearts out....and finally Christopher & Donovan's team won and Elena and Angela got 2nd....ahaha Steffi and Andrew Tan got MVP awards also heheh

Study Day Camp at Lutheran Church of Redeemer

Eunice, Timothy, Elena, Jermyn and me met up in QLC and made our way to Lutheran Church of Redeemer. Steffi came ard 10-15 min after we reached and we studied till 1pm. Studying was effective until Timothy broke the silence and we tokked till lunch. Lunch was at Coronation Plaza because Elena wanted as little sun exposure as possible. haha I was still able to enjoy $6 student meal which included soup, main course and a soft drink.

Then it was back to studying but we were stuck outside the church because they had locked all the doors. LOL after searching non-stop, Elena ended up calling the person in charge and we got the code to get into the church. HAHA studying was dominated by me helping Timothy with his chinese and constant chatting lol..

But amazingly, it was fun and they achieved alot of studying. Steffi and Jermyn went back and me, Elena, Eunice and Timothy went to a nearby Gelato cafe and ate ice-cream and played Taboo lol..we had endless laughter and fun..

Hope to do something like that soon...

Just trying out blogging

Hi, if you know me that's great if not, does not matter anyway. Just a 24 year old guy writing about the recent happenings in my life. Graduated and waiting/hoping to become the youth worker for Queenstown Lutheran Church.

Deciding on a design of the youth T-shirt hoping the back of the shirt can be this:

Unstoppable in His pursuit
- FOR YOUR SALVATION

Untouchable in His glory
- IN HEAVEN

Unbeatable in His battles
- AGAINST THE EVIL ONE

Unbelivable in His love
- FOR THE WORLD AND HIS CREATION

Unthinkable in His sacrifice
- THAT HE GAVE HIS DEAREST SON

Unbearable in His intolerance
- AGAINST SIN

Unforsaken in His last breath
- IT IS FINISHED

Excited about the Amazing race on the 14th and 15th of Sept. The planning committee really put alot of effort. Hope the youth and BB can really enjoy and maybe through that, spread the love of God.

A song i wrote - If only someone would offer to write the tune

The road less taken

1st stanza:

Walking on this path, all alone,
hoping to find the SPECIAL ONE,
fulfilling her wishes all I can,
with efforts to make myself a better man..

Chorus:

How many can acclaim that they are truly happy?
How many can promise true love?
How many can be truly sensitive?
How many can love you, like I do?

2nd stanza:
All my actions,
Just to make you smile,
A “Thank You” will be great,
But you do not even appreciate,
The road seems longer…

Interlude:
Happy are those who found love,
Their lives will be forever like the doves,
Sad are those who have given much,
But has received little.
Angry, I will never make you.
Elation is the only feeling I will fill your life.
All I ask is a chance…

A tribute to the NICE GUYS - No offence to the nice girls out there

This is a tribute to the nice guys. The nice guys that finish last, that never become more than friends, that endure hours of whining and bitching about what assholes guys are, while disproving the very point.

This is dedicated to those guys who always provide a shoulder to lean on but restrain themselves to tentative hugs, those guys who hold open doors and give reassuring pats on the back and sit patiently outside the changing room at department stores. This is in honour of the guys that obligingly reiterate how cute/beautiful/smart/funny/sexy their female friends are at the appropriate moment, because they know most girls need that litany of support. This is in honour of the guys with open minds, with laid-back attitudes, with honest concern. This is in honour of the guys who respect a girl's every facet, from her privacy to her theology to her clothing style.

This is for the guys who escort their drunk, bewildered female friends back from parties and never take advantage once they're at her door, for the guys who accompany girls to bars as buffers against the rest of the creepy male population, for the guys who know a girl is fishing for compliments but give them out anyway, for the guys who always play by the rules in a game where the rules favour cheaters, for the guys who are accredited as boyfriend material but somehow don't end up being boyfriends, for all the nice guys who are overlooked, underestimated, and unappreciated, for all the nice guys who are manipulated, misled, and unjustly abandoned, this is for you.

This is for that time she left 40 urgent messages on your cell phone, and when you called her back, she spent three hours painstakingly dissecting two sentences her boyfriend said to her over dinner. And even though you thought her boyfriend was a chump and a jerk, you assured her that it was all ok and she shouldn't worry about it.This is for that time she interrupted the best killing spree you'd ever orchestrated in half-life to rant about a rumour that romantically linked her and the guy she thinks is the most repulsive person in the world. And even though you thought it was immature and you had nothing against the guy, you paused the game for two hours and helped her concoct a counter-rumour to spread around the floor.

This is also for that time she didn't have a date, so after numerous vows that there was nothing "serious" between the two of you, she dragged you to a party where you knew nobody, the beer was awful, and she flirted shamelessly with you, justifying each fit of reckless teasing by announcing to everyone: "oh, but we're just friends!" And even though you were invited purely as a symbolic warm body for her ego, you went anyway. Because you're nice like that.

The nice guys don't often get credit where credit is due. And perhaps more disturbing, the nice guys don't seem to get laid as often as they should. And I wish I could logically explain this trend, but I can't. From what I have observed on campus and what I have learned from talking to friends at other schools and in the workplace, the only conclusion I can form is that many girls can be overly illogical and manipulative. Many of them claim they just want to date a nice guy, but when presented with such a specimen, they say irrational, confusing things such as "oh, he's too nice to date" or "he would be a good boyfriend but he's not for me" or "he already puts up with so much from me, I couldn't possibly ask him out!" or the most frustrating of all: "no, it would ruin our friendship."

Yet, they continue to lament the lack of datable men in the world, and they expect their too-nice-to-date male friends to sympathize and apologize for the men that are jerks. Sorry, guys, girls like that are beyond my ability to fathom. I can't figure out why the connection breaks down between what they say (I want a nice guy!) and what they do (I'm going to sleep with this complete ass now!).

But one thing I can do is say that the nice-guy-finishes-last phenomenon doesn't last forever. There are definitely many girls who grow out of that train of thought and realize they should be dating the nice guys, not taking them for granted. The tricky part is finding those girls, and even trickier, finding the ones that are single. So, until those girls are found, I propose a toast to all the nice guys. You know who you are, and I know you're sick of hearing yourself described as ubiquitously nice. But the truth of the matter is, the world needs your patience in the department store, your holding open of doors, your party escorting services, and your propensity to be a sucker for a pretty smile.

For all the crazy, insane, absurd things you tolerate, for all the situations where you are the faceless, nameless hero, my accolades, my acknowledgement, and my gratitude go out to you. You do have credibility in this society, and your well deserved vindication is coming.

Happy is the man and happy he is alone, who in all honesty can count today his own. He who has life and strength enough to say - yesterday is dead and gone, I'm gonna live today.

My poems - Hope it brings you happiness

I.

You give me strength when I was weak,
Help me pull through the tough week.

Beauty that is uncontested,
Makes my heart go to places I have never quested.

Undeniably my greatest love,
Pure like the whitest dove.

II.

You are so beautiful
And so wonderful
Nothing in the world can be compared to you
Like the clouds silhouetted against the sky
In my eyes you will always be my princess
Never imperfect, never bearing any faults.

III.

Being with you time always flies,
Your voice always as sweet as lullabies.

Bearing eyes that diamonds,
Shining and bringing light into my life.

Always I have been so lonesome,
Until I met perfection so wholesome.

IV.

Friendship with you I will always share,
Pain and turmoil I am willing to bear.

Kindness and love like yours cannot be found,
Unless I gave heaven bound.

Understand my deepest feelings,
Hoping our hearts can be converted
Being to Being.

V.

Words can never express my feelings for you,
Actions are insufficient too.

Heart and soul I give it up,
Just to be your little pup.

Anything just to be with you,
Giving my heart that needed cue.

VI.

You are my source of energy,
Guiding me whenever I am lost.

Making the world feel so perfect,
You are wonderful and that is a fact.

Not lacking in any aspect,
All I can give to you is my love and respect.

You will always be in my heart,
Lasting forever and making forgetting you very hard.

VII.

Happiness is when I talk to you.
Joyfulness is when I am with you.
Care I will always feel when I am near you,
Kindness is second nature to you.
Understanding is part and parcel of your character,
Being with you how short does not matter.

VIII.

I am always lost for words when I am near you.
Loving each and every moment
Overjoyed just to see your smile.

Vying for your attention,
Every word from you is like pure gold.

Yellow and shining which illuminates my life,
Old fashioned, I may be,
Unwrapping each moment to you.

IX.

Love is like diamonds,
Always beautiful and forever.

Giving life a crunch like almond,
Unsatisfying it will be never.

Sweet, wonderful and long-lasting,
Switching your heart from slow to hasting.

Love is like the sky,
Always beautiful even if you do not own it.

X.

Heart to heart I speak to you,
Meeting you made me a lovelorn fool.

Giving my life its needed wings,
Making everything else just simple things.

Flying may seemed out of line,
Not when you are on cloud nine.

I will always love you,
As you make my life feel so full.

XI.

Love is like a flower which has not bloomed,
The beauty of it that has not been groomed,
Once it is spring and the birds come out to sing,
That is when the love in my heart will be everlasting.

XII.

Watching the world go by,
Living it as someone oh so shy,
Never grasping what is in your sight.
Carpe Diem my friend,
For this is your day,
Where you have not found love so gay,
As the dream lover of yours is here to stay.

XIII.

Separation from you feels like forever,
Although it may just be an hour,
But together with you my heart longs forever,
For the day “I do” is significant,
Making my life and dreams complete.

XIV.

You are wonderful in every way,
Making my life beautiful in every aspect,
Even if it was a bad day,
Just thinking of you will make the bad thoughts go away.

XV.

True feelings is not knowing,
What lies ahead but just loving.
Appreciating every moment together,
Never wasting any time whatsoever,
To engulf your beloved with passion,
Soaring her directly to heaven.
Love is such a wonderful thing,
If only that’s the way people think.

XVI.

Sunny days,
Stormy weather,
Where the heart is,
The actions would follow suit.
My heart is overflowing with feelings,
How I wish I can make it true.
My days are like the morning dew,
Happy to think of you even I know it never lasted,
If only instincts could be like day and night.

XVII.

A closed window,
An empty seat,
The usual table,
Lipstick on the rim,
Unchained melody,
The smile on my face,
Never to be seen again.

XVIII.

The heat in my heart,
Burns for the one I love,
Wanting to make her my part,
Giving her the attention she deserves,
May you always be joyous,
Because you are the lucky one that everyone raved about.

XIX.

RAINBOW: The colours of life/love

Violet is for the royalty place in my heart
Indigo is for the illumination you give to me
Blue for the days that you are always able to change
Green for the pastures that you bring me to
Yellow for the smiley you always are
Orange for the sweetness you bestow on me
Red for the love that I have for you

XX.

The boredom of school,
The chance of a lifetime,
The monotonousity of work,
A father providing for his children,
A mother disciplining her child,
The child becoming someone great,
The world is so contradicting,
Life is a paradox and a oxymoron,
Because I hate you,
But I truly do love you.

Unfortunate events
Engulfing my life
May it all disappear
Never appear
Like the dust of the earth
Never to be seen again
Life goes on,
Sweeter but bitter,
Contraction, forever.

XXII.

Hardness of life,
Beauty of birth,
Regrets of choices,
Never forgotten,
Hurt time and time again,
Yearning only to be better,
May I be the best I can,
To become a great man,
Dragging the baggage of life,
Just to survive the weariness,
I cannot get hurt no more,
For only I will give the special One my all.

XXIII.

Choking and struggling for my breath,
Fighting back the ease of surrender,
Pulling myself out of the abyss,
The deep and bottomless pit,
Of sadness and pure sorrow,
The tears is drowning my reality,
But I will fend it back at all costs,
Just to fulfill my destiny,
Loving someone with everything I have.

My friend

Life is the great blue sky,High up there ever wonderful, may your life be as the sky, ever lifting to the people around you.Heart and soul is so full in you, hope your troubles do not dampen them, as strength and determination perseveres, making you a greater person.A poem is like a pen or a tool, useless unless fully appreciated, yearning to bring some meaning to your life, that all your pain will be evaporated.Suffering and sorrow will go away, what is left is a stronger girl, fighting to survive in this world, ending up as my wonderful friend.Carpe Diem my friend, grasp you life with your hand!

TRUE FEELINGS

Loving someone is like admiring the sky, It is always beautiful even though you do not own it.Blue, wonderful and always up high, Connects straight to the heart like a direct hit.
Looking at her wonderful beauty, Admiring it from afar, Knowing her heart is with someone else, Really tears me apart.
Loving someone is when you know, The person you love can hurt you the most. However you treat her best, It will never be on her mind.
Looking as another man holds her hand, I feel like a crushed ant, Helpless in my pursuit, For the love that I so yearn.
Loving someone is like a photo flash, You may be blinded awhile,But when the picture is produced, true realityWill then hit you and you may feel like a lovelorn fool.
Looking at her now really hurts me, To know that I can treat her even better, Than the weakling she chose to be with, Love bears no meaning.
